I believe that this is a 1971 Beau Brummel. I don't have an origin story other than it belonged to my father.
It still keeps excellent time
You are correct. Nice watch. Found it in the 1971 Line Book BAWD0179 page 29 of 70,

Good linebook match for the 1971 Bulova Beau Brummell "AU" (white gold version).
Congratulations on a wonderful keepsake from you father. Heirloom watches as SO special. It appears that he treasured it too, it's in amazing condition.
Agree that it's a 1971 Bulova Beau Brummell AU. If you plan to wear it regularly I recommend a professional service. This watch can runs for decades if properly cared for.
Sharp looking watch. I agree with Beau Brummell 'AU'
Thanks, everyone. I wear it regularly. I had it serviced about 10 years ago. It is running well but it is probably due for another servicing.
I also have my father's 1950s Girard Perregaux automatic. But I guess that is for another forum. :)
Thanks again.
