Watch Description

This is another one of those Bulova designs that has that 1970’s flair but also looks like it could be a contemporary watch which made it an insta-buy for me. I had been on the lookout for this model for a while as I really love the design and one finally popped up in Quebec. Funnily enough, a black dial version also became available (in Australia) within a week or so of this one and I grabbed that one too because, well, two is better than one!

It is a front loader with a split stem in an all stainless steel case with a brushed bezel and polished on the rest of the case. The mineral crystal (848M) was replaced (30.0 x 1.8) and sits in an L-shaped gasket. A generic crown replaced the Omega crown it came with. It has a thin circular spring that goes over the movement ring and slides partially underneath the case edges to, I assume, help keep the movement and dial from moving towards the crystal when the watch is moved, something I haven’t seen before.

The case (#848) and 23 jewel movement (11ANACD) are both dated 1970. The hands and hour markers are lumed with a red accent at the inside of the applied hour markers.

Both the dial and bracelet have the Bulova logo over top of the “Bulova” text which I’ve seen on other (presumed) international Bulova’s. I really love the bracelet with the cut out center area. I’m not convinced this bracelet is original to the watch though. The end links don’t have the wings on the underside that sit on top of the lugs and they also sit low on the lugs and not flush like on the black dial version (and two other similar watches with similar styling. Also, it came with the bracelet detached, presumably because it required putting in a significant curve into the springbars to get them to fit into the lug holes.

This was previously identified as model 370108.

Agree on the ID.  It appears to be a Japanese market watch based on prior ID's and only ad we have found.   1970 Bulova International "370108"

Great looking watch.

In keeping with the other example, I agree that it's best to ID the same.
