certainly

I've only seen it one other time (it may have been on this same watch).

a 'DATE KING' or 'SEA KING' possibly

At least the M8 movement stamp confirms 1968. Probably just the 'new guy' didn't understand the instructions for case stamping the year of manufacture :-)

The closest I could find for the dial indices and case is this Date King.

My gut is telling me it's a Sea King, but I agree that it could be one of a few models.

I just wish we could establish the key determining factor between a Date King and a Sea King.

Didn't the majority of early calendar models in the early 1960's  all start as  Date Kings and around 1967  - 1968 broke off and became other models? I may be wrong, but think we had a discussion about this in the past.

I think it's the Date King PM.  Want to say we have one someplace.

1968 Date King "PM"

Like THIS ONE that has the same unusual 3 place case date stamp.

Wow also a double date M66. The 'new guy' was trying to shake things up.
