Bulova Accutron Swiss Astronaut. 1968 (M8). This is the "Cream Dial" Swiss Variant known as the Type 4 Swiss Astro. There are two "Type 4" variants (Both Swiss). A Black Dial and a Cream Dial. The Black Dial is way more common. This Cream Dial Astronaut has a correct Swiss 1966(M6) 214HN GMT movement. This one has the unique inlaid Black Enamel Bezel, only found on Type 4 Swiss Astronauts. The Cream Dial has the correct Painted Tuning Fork LOGO at 12 o'clock, applied Baton hour markers in all other postions, also unique to only Type 4 Swiss Astronauts . Because the 24hour GMT hand has to clear the applied markers on the dial, the 24hour GMT hand is 'stepped'. The hands are correct Baton hands only found on the Type 4 Swiss variants. The case number is 546-2 which is unique to the Swiss Astronauts. The other USA Astronauts are case# 2410. There isn't alot of other info on these Swiss variants. I included a link to the Astronaut variants. I don't know of any ad that show this Cream Dial. I have seen a few ads with the Black Dial. http://www.decadecounter.com/accutron/astronaut.htm

Have you come across any adverts for this model yet?
It's a great looking watch.
The link is also a great reference, so I'll add to the 'Watch links' page for future visitors.

I have seen one "colorized" add that showed the Black Dial Swiss Astro and it seemed to show 2 different Style numbers for that ad but it was a fuzzy ad so I will try to find that ad in better condition. Will post it if or when I find it.

The only two ads I have found and they aren't in English and neither one show a Cream Dial Variant.

I found another Swiss astro Type 4 Ad and this one also shows Black Dial Variant as Style # 21207. So if I can find the Style # 21208 ad which I referenced in another post, that may lead us to the Cream Dial variant ad we are looking for.
French Translation:
"Bulova Accutron astronaut steel waterproof model with a moving window that indicated time of Greenwich and that of other time zone. Is preferred by the aero nautical industry intercontinental travelers and by some American Astronauts."

Or the Black Dial Style #21207 may reference the leather strap option as see in the pic and the Black Dial Style # 21208 may reference the metal bracelet/Bullet Band option? I don't know. That's about as much as I can find.
I'm all in for the Accutrone Astronaut ID.
Let's keep digging for a way to justify the model number, as while this may not be our usual "variant" designation, if we can nail down model number, that's more specific than generic Accutron Astronaut.
Again, Good ad layout SpaceViewM2 !
