Here is an interesting one. Case and movement M6. Four quadrant shadow dial with date window at 3 position.
I find no instance of this face with stepped solid markers at 12 and 9 anyplace in the database.
Movement says Date King Variant and the only other similar faces in square cases found in the ads with similar stepped indices were all Date King variants that aren't represented by submitted watches . Among these were the GG and NZ; both of which appear to have shadow dials based on short ads. None are a match to subject watch. My first thought was it was a marriage, but I now don't think so.
Variations of this case design were used for Engineer and also Diamond Excellency; so the possibility that this is an undocumented something else is not out of the question. This appears to be the same case as Engineer. Inside of back is stamped 2621. High domed crystal is a perfect fit.
There is one watch listed as an Engineer that is a 1967 with a date window, sunken subdial and different indices that I believe may have just been ID'ed as such for lack of a better place to put it.
Interesting, the case is reminiscent of the Engineer but the dial completely different. I'm at a loss on this one Bob. Quite the cylinder on that crystal, it looks thicker than the case itself.
Case in a match for an Bulova Engineer and the dial is a match for the Date King "GG".
Combined I suspect it's another variant of the Date King.

I'm with you Stephen. Logic says this is a Date King, as opposed to an Engineer.
I'll agree this is a Date King, unknown variant
VERY tentative on Date King.......
Confirmed model and tentative variant based on the 1966 Line book! Right down to sector dial noting possible replacement leather strap.
1966 Bulova Date King (tentative AE until a leather strap variant ID is found)

Good ad find, Jim! I'm with you,
1966 Date King AE, noting replacement band (by me)
Just bumping this one. 1966 Date King AE
