Here is a pic of grandpaws watch that was passed down to me. It has m3 on back which is a 1963 and seriel # is 407785. It is anti magnetic and shock resistant, and self winding. I dont think it has ever been serviced, however the number nine is upside down. I would really like to know how that happened because it doesnt look like it has been moved. It appears perfectly aligned. Would like to know what model, how much it cost new, how much its worth now and if a schematic or repair manual is available for it. Thanks E EDIT: Changed to Jet Clipper 2012/07/28
There ar no appraisals on any watches on this site. A vintage Bulova is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Interesting that the 9 is upside down though.
Why are you selling Grandpaws watch?
UPSIDEDOWN #9 I am not selling it! I dont know why that was put on my page! I would never sell this watch since it was my grandfathers and was given to me when he died. I would just like to find out what model it is and maybe where it was sold at the time since we don't know where he bought it. The interesting aspect of this watch is the upside down #9. We have now idea how or when this happened. Hard to believe Boluva or a repairman would do this intentionaly.
The upside down 9 is truly strange. One can only guess how such a thing could happen.
Have you checked the ads yet to see if you can spot a match for a model ID? They're under the Information tab at the top of the page.
The dial was most likiely refinished at one time, and the dial guy put the number back on upside down... It has happened to me before.
agreed,
I was about to add that the numerals are applied and do come off, someone in a hurry may have re-installed the 9 upside down or if it's pinned with a single pin the numeral may have spun on its own axis over time?
wish I could explain this one away so easily....

mutterring...
In reply to agreed, I was about to add by FifthAvenueRes…
FWIW, I have a Benrus dial that has a loose chapter marker that will rotate on it's mount. I don't know if it's press fit or if it wasn't soldered properly. Regardless, it can be fixed.
You can edit it and uncheck the for sale box. Also pictures of the movement might help in finding out what this watch is.
Insufficient data.
a 'CLIPPER' of sorts, possibly a 'JET CLIPPER' or 'YANKEE' (?)
We need a shot of the Caseback and a Jewel count to aid the ID, I'm assuming 17.
I have researched the clipper and yankee models, but can't find any with 12,3,6,9. This nuber sequence is always different. They have either 2,4,6,8,10,12 or 12,6.
