14K white gold watch with diamonds.Marquis shaped case with faceted crystal. I was a teenager when my grandmother passed away and I received her watch (1977). I replaced her stretch band with the current cord one then. I wore it on special occasions then put it away about 40 years ago. Today, It runs, as I took to a jeweler who dissembled, cleaned, and set the time. Christmas Day is my grandmother’s birthday and I want to wear it then. I have no idea what model it is, as I can’t find another watch case like this one.
Welcome to mybulova. Thanks for sharing this amazing heirloom with us. I'm having a tough time researching this one, and need some clarification. How did you date this watch? Is it by the date code on the movement or perhaps family recollections? a clear photo of the movement would be of great benefit. Crystals this shape in diamond accented watches are more common in the 1960's and 70's.
How many diamonds are on the watch?
This is a common problem with ladies solid gold case watches of this period. The standard date codes were not always used. I'm thinking early 1960s as a starting point for the linebooks.
NunnasGirl can you please confirm how many diamonds you can count on the watch case?
I think I found a linebook match for a 1963 Bulova La Petite "ZZZ"

If my second comment did not post (I don’t see it), please reply and I’ll rewrite those comments. Briefly, I’ll have to count the diamonds on Saturday and the watch was treated as any old thing given to a sentimental teenager
Bulova La Petite "ZZZ" looks to be a good match. Not sure about the date as we don’t have any date codes.
Agreed, that sure looks like a match. Nicely found, Stephen. I went through everything up to 1957 with no luck and before I started on the 60's you nailed it.
Bulova La Petite "ZZZ"
Still waiting for a date code from the movement; or do we date it to the first linebook entry?
I’m so happy! You all are great! I’ll post a photo soon as I can get back to Texas Jewelry.
Lovely heirloom!

Fabulous!
