Thank you for allowing me to share my latest addition to my collection
I recently purchased from an auction site. I have no information on its history or if it is an actual Space view or a conversion.
While cleaning the crystal came out and i can not reassemble. Sending it to he serviced and have a new crystal installed
Welcome to mybulova. Very cool, thanks for sharing. At first, I thought this might be a conversion. Based on this ad dated 1964, it appears your watch is a
1961 Accutron Spaceview "D".

Here it is as noted in the ad with conventional dial from Bulova 1961 linebook

NeetStuf,
I apologize for not mentioning this before. Thank you very much for taking the time to find and post this. It is nice to know that there are those who are willing to share their knowledge with others and do so with little expectation of receiving anything in return.
You all are a great group of people and I feel lucky to have found you and that you all have allowed me into your group.

This is a 1962 Bulova Dealers Card, You can tell it's a 1962 or earlier watch because it has a "fils" sweep second hand that was used from 1960 to 1962, Starting in 1963 Bulova switched to the "cone" style sweep second hands...

The coil assy also shows it to be a 1962 or earlier...

Astronaut,
Your saying I shouldn't have the parts swapped out like an old set of tires.
Do you think it is possible to restore it to its original state? Do you know if the coil assembly can be repaired? It looks like most of the time they're just replaced. I think it has the wrong or newer pallet plate and tuning fork both have markings the earlier versions did not. This would most likely add to the cost and I definitely wouldn't be wearing it out on date night anytime soon.
Not to mention finding a craftsman who really really knows these watches.
I'm not sure this poor watch landed in the right hands.

Astro...has this been confirm? Is this 100% the case?
If so it's a great way on checking the movement is correct for the period if the case.

Oh yes for the first three years 1960/1961/1962 there are very distinct components that were used which makes it a great way to tell how original the movement is...
Here are some of the things to look for in the first three years...

In 1963 many of the components and marking had changed...

So going by these I'd say the movement is not 100% original...
