I believe this could be a 1960 Beau Brummel self-winding watch. It was just given to me by my Father and it appears to still be functional, not sure if it is keeping accurate time. I would like to get a new band for it, so i would need to know the band width. It has sentimental value but if there is a monetary value, i will need to know a range to put on our homeowners insurance. Thanks!
What a great gift from your dad. The watch was as top of the line as Bulova had in 1960 with 14kt gold case and 30 J movement and listed for $195 which equates to $2102 in today's dollars. Based on the 1960 linebook this is a 1960 Bulova Beau Brummell "DDDW". As for value we do not provide values but being a 14KT gold watch it has a least the value on the weight of the 14kt gold watch case and case back which I estimate is between 10-14g.

Thanks for the rapid response! Very thorough insight. Any idea of the band width? Appreciate your help.

The band is measured by millimeters. I believe this will be 16mm-18mm. You will need to measure for sure. You can also take to any jeweler who has new straps and they will be able to fit one for you.
Yes indeed, a wonderful heirloom from your Dad.

Measure the distance between the lugs and use google to convert the fraction into millimeters or measure in MM if you have a proper measuring tool.
