Watch Description

Hi everyone. I just bought this watch from eBay, and I’m hoping to get it identified. Since I haven’t received it yet, the pictures attached here are from the listing. From the photos, I noticed that, engraved, there is an L8, and in the description, it states that it’s white gold plated and is 23 jewels. I can’t seem to figure out the last letter/number of the serial number; I’m not sure if it’s a 1 or a capital i.

Another thing is that, on the band of the watch, there are 11 or 12 stones (maybe diamonds or crystals?). I’m not sure if this is another variant of La Petite that could be rare or if the band was changed. Any insight on this would be great!

Thank you so much!

Very nice, thanks for sharing. I'm going to say it's a La Petite "C", like this one on a replaced band. I like this band better than the original as shown in period ads.

Thank you for the clarification! I was wondering how replaced bands come to be? Would it be done by Bulova itself after the purchase or from another watchmaker? Thank you!

It could have been an upgrade at point of purchase or the original band wore out. You can buy replacement bands and do it yourself or take it to a jeweler. Basically, bands are like tires or brakes on a car; a commonly replaced item.

Very nice complete package with the box!  I agree the band looks really nice, band replacements are pretty common.
