Named 'Surfmaster' as id'ed by Old Ticker via crystal dimensions and description
Lol yup that would be it !!!!!! Have a model name with that fine looking crystal and seal ?
The name listed in the 65 GS catalog for 1166E is Surfmaster "A", and the GS part # is CMS660.
The measurements are slightly different in the GS listing verses the Original Bulova specs, 23.1mm x 23.1mm and 25.1mm x 25.1mm flange compared to what the Bulova crystal shows, but they both have the 1166E model number on them.
This may be a "Surfmaster" in 1957 and renamed Surfmaster "A" in the later years?
Page 42 bottom left of the GS #65 catalog Scott.
Here is the GS catalog listing.

The crystal is flat, but the flange that sits on the dial is curved both ways, slightly on one dimension and more on the other.
Ill go with surfmaster for now...thanx a bunch for looking it up !!!
ID updated per this discussion
This appears to be a Surfmaster D based on the 1958-1959 Line Book BAWD0136 page 25 of 130
