The watch has a date code of L6 on movement and inside case back.Dial and crown and movement are signed. Case back inside says Swiss L6. It has a two piece stem and is a front loader. Stainless steel case and back.white hands and silver dial with the AA style finish Numbers and hash marks are raised white. It runs and keeps great time.
I gotta hook up my old hard drive and check the Bulova model price lists for this series. Should be in the age range for examples in the earlier Bulova price lists. ...or I could ask NSA if they could grant me top secret access to the data, although I doubt they would restore my hard drive for me. No wait. I actually graduated from high school and live in Hawaii. Maybe Booz Allen will give me a job as a contractor and I can access my data from there....
On a comical note, White may also be a discriptor for Stainless Steel, but I doubt for a gold bezel aned stainless back. Maybe for an "all stainless" model though....at least in second or third party ads anyway...
Shows what I remember. The 1955 phantom ad snippet below is from ad Admin previoulsy linked. Its a first party Bulova produced Matt ad supplied to dealers, so it does look like "White" referes to Stainless Steel in this example. I woulda thought Bulova listed as Stainless vs just the color white...

yep in many series, case color and dial color do indicate a different variant....but in some series this doesn't seem to be so...or we just don't have all the info for those series. For the years of this series (and others in this timeframe) these attributes do often make the variant...perhaps usually. I'm not gonna say always, because I think we have some data that suggest it's not "always" for this period....typical Bulova...but their inconsistencies make all this ID'ing fun and challenging.
