Marked L6 on movement and case. Stainless Steel scallop design case 39.8 lug to lug, 30.8 wide not including he signed crown. White re-finished sun burst dial, silver hour markers, silver Lance hands. Black leather band. One of my favorite 23's.
Agreed Bulova 23 for sure. I think we have this one nailed down to variant too...but not positive with those waves/dips where bezel meets crystal.
This is pretty early in the life of the Bulova 23 series. The 1955 Fall price list gives these variants (below) by price. I clipped the 3 higher price variants off the bottome of this snippet. This is the section of the lists that appears to give all models/variants for sale at date of list.

In other places in the price lists, they give gold color and some other charactoristics for some variants of Bulova 23. The $59.95 price narrows the subset down a bit.
Fall '55 list grouped by price shows A and B are both White gold (W). Sometimes W is used for stainless steel cases.

In the ten minutes it took me to do this, someone has probably found the ad and got the variant call nailed down already....LOL
So there is a white gold in the same design? I have one but thought maybe someone put the wrong back on it before it fell into my hands.
I have one too Gerard. Definitely a 23.
1955 ad for "23 B" below. Interesting I don't see any watches in the database ID'ed as the "A".

The "A" is also White or Stainless case and same price. Wonder what the difference btwn "A" and "B" is? Two different/unique Bulova numbers, so there's some noticable difference :)
Here's one of the late 1955 Bulova mat ads showing several early Bulova 23.
In reply to Bulova 23 "B" works for by mybulova_admin
From Admins link above: What's the difference between the A (second row right) and "B". Pasted below:

While on that page, I noticed the "black dialed" version of the "A" has radium dial. I wonder if the black dial of the B also has radium dial?
I'm still torn btwn A and/or B for subject watch.
The "B" is the only advert that has an exact dial match. Not the one above...the one in the link 3rd row first watch.
Aha...I see the wording on the dial now. LOL I posted the second watch, 3rd row. Here's the first watch 3rd row on left.

I'm good with B. My bad on seeing the details of ads. Thanks for pointing it out for me.
