Not sure if this falls into the Bulova 23 or the Beau Brummell model lines. Hopefully there will be some line book discoveries to help out.
I came across this piece on Ebay as just a pile of guts. the dial, movement, crystal, rings, gaskets, etc... everything but case and case back. My assumption was that this was the remnant handy work of a gold scrapper. I loved the dial, and the movement is one of my favorites, so I had to have it. I figured I would enjoy it whatever case I could fit it in until I found a proper 14k case for it. Well, I finally found what I believe is the proper 14k case for this dial and movement. My only reasoning for this is that I have the similar dial (with the diamond arrangement) in white and 14k white gold case. I am making an assumption that this is a yellow gold variant of that Beau Brummell Model but I cannot find any documentation stating such. That's where you guys come in. Please.
There is one notable difference in this dial and that of the similar dial in white, the non-diamond indices. The shape is different.
I hope i have chosen the right case, the look is super fitting for the dial, and I love it.
Home Run, and an excellent job!! You built a
1956 Beau Brummell "S"
and I must say I am impressed. Nice save and a first for the database.

The case could also have originally been a Bulova 23"J"; but regardless, as presented, it's a proper Beau.

Feels like a Home Run. I knew the dial was a keeper. Not one i had seen before in yellow. It quickly became a favorite it the collection.
From what I can see I think you nailed the case for the Bulova Beau Brummel "S".

Awesome watch and great to finally see one in the metal. Always great to have an example in the database for some of these rarer gold and diamond watches. 1956 Bulova Beau Brummell "S"

As i have narrowed down the scope of my collection to avoid going broke trying to get one of everything, i have found myself favoring the Diamond set dial models. i think i have been fortunate to have been able to add several firsts the DB. SCrappers have made them harder to find. Im just glad i could save this one and bring it back into the spotlight

So nice Chris, 1956 Bulova Beau Brummell S, well done
