Hello colreed, it's possible the watch isn't original to the clam shell display case it's currently in. Is it possible to verify the movement number and jewel count on the movement? Thanks

Your watch is actually a 1955 Bulova Ardsley as shown in the 1955 advert. Unfortunetly as indicated by the good Mr Baker the box isn't original to the watch as the Ardsley had a 17 jewelled movement.

Good news however is that the watch still has it's original band as shown in the advert.

Agree with Ardsley, with original band.

Welcome to myBulova and thank you for sharing your watch with us!  It is always wonderful when a watch still has the original band, congrats.

FYI: I wound the watch this morning, and after 8 hours, it is keeping perfect time.

I took it to a watch repair shop and had it opened up. The only number they could see was 10BT, and said it was 17 jewels (the box is obviously not correct for this watch). Does 10BT mean anything specific? Many thanks.

It's not unusual that watches are placed in cases that aren't original to them, in fact it's quite common. 10BT is the model number of the movement.

Hi again, Folks.

I have decided to try and sell the Bulova Ardsley I have posted above and would appreciate your advice. It still runs perfectly.

Would it be best for me to advertise on a few sites and sell it outright, or better to auction?

Either way, I have no idea as to value. Perhaps someone out there can help me with that.

If auction, would Ebay be best or somewhere else?

Many thanks for your inputs.
