The only advert I find specifying color of the 23D says it's yellow gold. I'd be inclined to tag this as a Bulova 23 without a variant for now.

Here is the 1955 Linebook BAWD 0127 showing this in White.   1954 Bulova 23 "D" looks like a match to me.
