Watch Description

My mother-in-law graduated from Southside High School in Memphis in 1955. Look up Elvis Presley and Southside High School. I've heard stories. Anyway, her parents gave her a Bulova for graduation. This is that watch. She gave it to me Thanksgiving Day 2022 because I like watches. I will get it serviced and give it back to her for Mother's Day or her 86th birthday. Those days are only about 3 weeks apart.

I searched all the member watches for any watch with the 5AD movement and none were a match. Kathy has a LOT of watches with the 5AD movement. This is the tiniest movement I've ever seen.

What a great story and a lovely watch.  In the 1955-57 linebook it is a Dolly Madison "R" if white, "Q" if yellow.  It looks white to me in the photos but let us know if it is yellow.

That would be a great gesture on your part.  I am sure she would love it.   1953 Bulova Dolly Madison "R"

A vintage watch is a wonderful thing. A vintage watch with a story is a fantastic thing.

Heirloom watches are the best, thanks for sharing the watch and story with us. Well done on the ID, Kathy. I looked for a considerable amount of time and apparently missed the Linebook entry.
