Sweet! Case SN says 1955 though.
I see the L3 on the movement, and it looks like a date code on the case back, just can't read it.
Statesman looks good, but a closer front-on pic would help.
Not sure what the watch name is but sure it is not "Tank". Tank is a case style and, I believe, a watch NAME that Cartier patented.
the image wants to pixelate close in but the bezel is unique and readily identifiable.

A 1953 ad names the same Watch the 'DELEGATE' http://www.mybulova.com/sites/default/files/vintage_ads/bulova-ad-1953-… *note the descriptive text: Stainless Steel back.
Stainless Back - 'DELEGATE'
Gold Back - "STATESMAN'
Agreed w/ Statesman. If the "stainless back" in Delegate ad is a typo then how do we distinguish between these two models? We may have more than one ad now stating "stainless back" for Delegate. I gotta check.
Will,
The ad for the 'DELEGATE' states the Watch has a Stainless Steel back, We see examples that match.
In the ad for the 'STATESMAN' there is no mention of a Stainless back and We see examples with Gold Casebacks.
At this time this is Our only discerning difference between the 2 Models.
Agreed. I remember discussion of the Delegate ad possibly being a typo- the stainless back part- but we have example watches w/ both.
Looks like a 1953 Statesman to me.
EDIT OCT 23rd: I meant to type DELEGATE
I'd say Statesman, with re-dial.
Stainless back as stated in the ad, I don't think that's a typo, I'm with Mark on the Delegate or we go non confrming due to the refinished dial.
