Watch was found at local Flea market, needed cleaning and winding stem replaced. Original Crown was "Branded" as a Bulova. I needed to replace with unnamed crown.
Engraving on the back "Eimont AF"
Welome to mybulova and thanks for sharing your find with us. Watch appears to be a Minute Man with what I suspect is a refinished custom dial. As far as I know, "Eimont" has no relation to bulova, so I suspect it is the owner's last name. I would guess the engraving on the back are the initials "AJ" and last name. This model came with a white dial. Very cool.
1950 Minute Man with customized/personalized dial

thedeacon when you look at the dial does it have a V shaped notch on the edge anywhere? This usually a good sign that the dial has been professional redone. Your dial certainly looks like it was done professionally and am curious if this is something Bulova may have done or an aftermarket company.
Your watch is certainly a 1950 Bulova Minute Man.
According to this advert there were different variants of the Minute man: https://admin.mybulova.com/sites/default/files/vintage_ads/bulova-ad-19…, although I suspect they relate to case gold style and maybe mount. A black dial may have been a variant.
Thanks all for the great infomation. The watch was found very close to Pennnsylvania in New Jersey . The vendor certainly could have been from that state. I do love the personalized nature of this watch.
There is no V shaped notch on the corner edge, Im guessing Bulova customized the dial?

I love being able to put a "face" and story with a watch. Eimont is not a common name worldwide, which really helped. I dug a little deeper and found confirmation on Ancestors.com Born in PA and interred in NJ, where you bought the watch.
Name:Aloysius Joseph Eimont
Birth Date:9 Sep 1926
Death Date:27 Jul 1988
Cemetery:Hillside Cemetery
Burial: Metuchen, Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States of America
Im very close to that town, and will certainly pay my respects to Mr. Eimont. I do have a collection of personalized engraved watches and Presentation watches given for years of service or awards. I research them and usually find the previous owner's name. I try if I can to get in touch with family members to offer the watch back if they so desire, but not much much with that. Thanks so much neetstuf-4-u for research I enjoy putting a name and face to a watch and I will treasure this watch as it deserves .
