This wrist watch belonged to my father. It was recently serviced by a reputable local jeweler, who specializes in watch repairs. It has been in the family for as long as I can remember. My father pass away last November and had not used this watch for a long time. I was going thru my safe box at home and I was going opening jewelry boxes and found this Bulova Watch, wind it up and saw it working immediately. I decided service it and wear it proudly.

In 1949, it looks like this watch was given a movement with less jewels and re-named the "DRAKE".

What is the case back no./movement date mark? Is it A8, or 48?

...then your watch dates to 1949, and needs to be changed, holugar!
I don't know if it fits the His Excellency "AA" the add list a white face, this one looks light gold.

Over time many watches, especially those that were not water/dust resistant, or had bad seals, became discoloured on the dial. I think it has the most beautiful patina, like some old glass from as far back as Roman times turns gold, so has your dial!
Most if not all of the 1940's Excellency line came in three different colour gold cases, yellow, white and red/rose/coral/pink (the last was different names for the same colour, says I!).
The yellow cased had white dials, the white cased had black/dark grey dials, and the "red" cased had pink dials.

I did not realized that....interesting.
I will try to take better pictures and reload them again, the fact that the white dial turn into a light gold color which in turn gives a watch a great contrast with the case is truly amazing.
It is like a natural transformation which adds character to this watch.
This is in fact a true statement of aged beauty!
I will make the correction on the date.
