Fantastic "His Excellency AA" in the pink gold. I was VERY happy to snag this watch for a great price. If you look from 1946-48 you see this was also called the "Princeton", though it sported a different dial by that name.
One of my favorites actually. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do. Personal collection piece.

Sorry Jerin, 2 stars for this one. Dial and hands don't match the ad picture which leads me to believe this would have a different letter variation. Love the watch, but not an AA IMO. Yours appears to be rose gold with a copper dial with raised silver markers, Is that so? I may be more inclined to concurr with the ad description but still have some doubts.
Lovely watch, and I agree with the Excellency AA ID, based on the matching case and dial, the date, the jewel count, and the ad's description--which includes the pink gold variety.
A review of the ad database indicates that this style was called the Princeton through 1946, and then became the "His Excellency" or the "His Excellency AA" in 1947. Interestingly, there are two ads from 1947 that appear to show this watch with the exact same case and dial, but one is called the "His Excellency", and the other is called "His Excellence AA". Thanks, Bulova, for keeping things clear and simple.
The only model shown with this dial is the "His Excellency AA", so I think Plains is on strong ground here.

The ad also indicates that it came in a pink gold variety. All the watches I have with a pink gold case--of which I have 12 from the '30s and '40s--came with a coral or pink dial, not a white dial. Hands and numerals would also differ to complete the look.
Also, the ads do not support this model being anything other than the "AA" variety.

Not when the ad for the "AA" clearly states that it also came in other colors. If those other colors, etc. had a different name, then the ad would have listed those names next to the variation descriptions. We have seen that quite a few times.
I'm keeping it as the "AA". I have the ad above showing this watch in the matching year, matching dial, matching numbers. That it's pink gold with matching dial is apparent with the wording "also available in pink gold".
And to be honest I don't really care what the stars say... I know what watch I have.
