Watch Description

I think this is a1946  Alexander with the original band in Rose Gold but I'm not sure.  I had it professionally cleaned and serviced and it works well.  I'm thinking of temporarily replacing the band with a leather one so that I can wear it. (I'm female with a very small wrist.).  I would appreciate anything anyone has to say.

Thank you.

Hi Frannie - welcome to myBulova. While we could have a little disagreement between panel members on your watch ID but based on the movement jewel count and year of production I suggest it's the Aviator model, like THIS one . The Alexander model was earlier and slightly different. I think it would be completely appropriate to switch out the bracelet for a nice leather strap but I suggest holding on to the original bracelet.

Ruling out the "B" as that was a yellow case.

Going to agree with 1946 Bulova Aviator "D" (rose gold).

Well Thank You All!!! so much!

It looks like I have a 1946 Aviator!

I'm happy that it's ok to wear it with a substitute band. I'll definitely keep the original band. (I thought about removing some of the stretch links so it would fit, but by the time I did that, I wouldn't be able to fit my hand into it.)

I sincerely appreciate all of the input.

Lovely watch and I love anything in rose gold.  The band should be easy to replace with a leather one, enjoy it and wear it!

Thank you!

I'm thrilled with it really! I've always had a 'thing' for watches, especially the manual winds. (I'm hoping that this one will not stop when I get it on my wrist....)

Can you tell me where to find the movement serial number? I couldn't locate that when I entered my info initially.

Movement serial numbers were discontinued in the early 1930's. Your watch doesn't have one :o)
