Of course, here is the watch, it's my first Bulova. (I'm a Brit who has recently moved to live in the States)

The only real issue is the surface of the crown which should obviously be gold plated, it seems like a circular piece of plating was lost.

Jay, will you please use the 'add a watch' feature to create a new entry into the dB for your watch? Thanks,

1945 was the Year Arde founded the Joseph Bulova School of Watchmaking, could these be a product of? .... time will tell.

Here is a much clearer ad  of the commuter.  Other than 17J vs 16J of this watch this is a dead on match.

Has to be a match, even has the recessed crown.

1945 Bulova Commuter gets my vote.

Well done Jim for sticking with it and finding a great confirmation ad.

Thanks.  The only issue is the jewel count and since this is 1945 I wonder if they were using up old military stock movements or if this is just and ad error.  The case, dial, hands, font, recessed crown, gold plated, stainless back all line up.

the issue definately is the Jewel count and it does not explain the similarly cased 15 and Jewel models.

This does not match those lumed watches you posted.  This is a printed white markers on a black dial and non-lumed hands or markers.  Center second and also the same shaped hands also.

I think You're missing the point.

The watch images posted are all Military issue Movements (15J and 16J) and Dials in identical cases.

The ad for the 'COMMUTER' does not match the 16J movement of the subject watch and it also fails to mention the the Hack feature of the 16J 10AKCSH.
