Believe this to be a 1945 Navigator. Dial is in rough shape, otherwise it's really fine.
Looks the same as http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1943-navigator-5216

We have other Minute man ads from 1942, the Navigator ads in the DB date from 1944.

There are two models with this case design and the year date is the determining factor. Navigator and Minite Man.
Again, it's probably more benefitial adding a watch to the site once you have it in hand and can post 'all' the relevant details.
I'll have to wait for you to update the listing before starting my review.
I kinda like the process of having some raw info on which to brainstorm, as it allows us to consider various possibilities which may be rulled out when more info arrives. I may not have been reminded about the Navigator/Minute Man date break if we had known the date of this watch from the go get. It takes more time, and we may go down the wrong path innitially, but its a learning process.
Having said that, encouraging listing watches without complete information may open the flood gates Admin neatly closed when he archived the "What Is It" forum. I remember we would sometimes get one blurry picture, and some text saying "it has long pointy hands, says Bulova on the dial, is either yellow or rose gold, and is kinda big for a ladies watch of this era".
