I bought this described as an A-11, but learned that the caseback appears to be from an ORD watch. I believe the date code is a circle, so I've taken the date to be 1944. The movement model is hard to read as it's obscured by the wheel driving the centre second pinion, but it looks like it may be 10AK.
We would classify this beauty as a Military Issue A-11.
Date wise I think we align with the movement date of 1944.
I see the 'X' for 1943 and a 'O' for 1944.
Agreed.
1944 Military Issue A-11
just a questione here....
Why you call it a-11 ? is it cause of the hack movement ??
i cearly see the back with only ord.dept.
the a-11 usualy have the back engraved with a-11....
so why call this one a-11 ?
Thanks for the comments.
I had thought it most likely that the caseback had been swapped with one from an ORD watch, but perhaps someone here knows different.
I posted the watch on WUS asking for info and someone replied 'There is an A-11 type watch that comes in the ORD marked watch cases. These are stamped "OFA". These are not common.'

your right about the case back swap!
10ak with swep second is a A-11!
Wrong caseback for the A-11, most likely a swap.
So a question to the community from me. What military model does the ORD DEPT case back belong to?

- the 10AK is a 15J non hacking wristwatch with a sub-seconds dial.
