1943 Bulova President - E
14K Rose Gold Filled case and caseback, s/n dates case to 1942; inside etched Roman numerals match last three case s/n 000; appears to be the original glass; copper dial with blue hands, notch at 6 indicates a possible re-dial; 7AP 21-jewel movement dated to 1943 ( X ); Kreisler matching gold band - 'E' variant in ads shows a different band, as seen in this 1941 example, but there are ads showing the band on this watch as well (no variant given) 1945; came with a display box that I can assume is original.
The 1945 ad shows this setup costing $65, whereas the earlier 'E' variant ads with the different band cost $57.50; the different band option and price could mean a different variant, or maybe not.
Hi Andersok
A really fantastic President wow
Another stunning example. Are you going to let some of your friends ride in your time machine one of these days, Ken?
President it is, and a cleaner example I have never seen.
Where do you find such a nice President E?
Thanks for the comments - this one I found online, and it looked nothing like the final restored condition. Hidden by years of patina and grime, and it had such a nice dial that needed nothing done. These are the only before photos I have:
Ditto Rev Rob. I'm ready for that wonderful ride back in time and hope to bring back a box full of wonderful Bulovas.
Nice President "E"
Another beauty from the bench of K Anderson, well done!
