I would say it is 1942 Lone Eagle "A"

Dating 1942, based on the first number in the case serial number.

I believe the model might depend on the size and dimentions of the watch and its crystal.

It could be the Bulova Lone Eagle, but it might also be the Bulova Ambassador

Although opening the watch up to determine the movement jewel count would probably tell us which. 

17J then probably a Lone Eagle.

21J will make it a Ambassador.

Welcome vfd999, I think heirloom watches are just the best. I too would love to know the jewel count. Any chance of getting it opened?

I'm new to this, so apologies if I incorrectly describe something.  I can seperate it from the case, but but the caseback and movement seem to be stuck together so I can't see the back of the movement. Since the crystal is missing it looks like there is quite a bit of dirt/corrosion keeping them together. Again, being a novice, I don't want to mess with it too much. Any suggestions? Also, looking for suggestions for a reliable watchmaker in the central NJ area to work on it!

Hey Y'all

I just happen to have the same watch sitting here on my desk, a 21 Jewel 10AX movement, dates 1930 or 1940. Has the Omega symbol. Case # 0944013.

Was able to get it open. Can confirm 1942 based on date sysmbol, and 21 jewels
