Here is one I have been after for a while. It is a 1941 Bulova Perisphere. So distinctice and named for perishere at the 1939 New York Worlds Fair. It is so tiny it makes you wonder how anyone could tell time. The case is 10K yellow gold filled with a 5AB 17J movement with a asterisk date code. Amazingly it appears to have the original gold filed GEMEX black cord bracelet. The movement is so small i decided to just put the whole movement less the dial in the washer. Then oiled the pivots which required removing the balance. You should be careful the hairspring on these 5ABs is so thin and fragile. Much to my surprise the watch fired up and is keeping good time.
Glad you were able to find one. Such a cool model.
1941 Bulova Perisphere
I think every serious Bulova collector should have one of these in their collection. I've come close a few times but have always held out for a nice specimen. Looks like you found yourself a beauty.

That's a nice one JimDon. The dial has held up extremely well over the years.
