17j Model. OXFORD Model. Advert found in the adverts section (1939) of this site. EDIT: Changed from Ambassador C to Oxford 2012.08.13
HEY... Nice one, Gary! I much prefer the two and three tone (color) dial variants, myself... And grey and black is very handsome, indeed :-) I may have been outbid by you on this one, some time ago??? LOL... If I have any extra crystals for this beauty, I'll soon post them on eBay and credit you, as par :-)
This style is akin to the Bulova Presidents and also reminds me of the Hamilton Sutton, of the time... However with a distinctively masculine and more sophisticated dial "look," I think? It must have been a really GOOD seller, back in 1939/40!?
Best :-) Scott
Three words....Bulova 'had' style.
Great watch.
Great watch, but I'd find the original Silver Hands for it.

I am not sure it should have silver hands, this would go against most other watches that are gold with dials that are silver. Most of which have gold hands to stand out. Unfortunately I cannot see in the original advert as it is too small.

The link to the auction site doesn't work.
Or the watch is sold.

Link should now be fixed, Thanks
Gary,
The Case with the recessed Crown appears to be the 'OXFORD' as shown in the newer 1939 ads.
* note the Hands matching the Dial, as stated prior.

Indeed it is an OXFORD but for some reason I can not change the model. Why has this new format been brought in where I cant give my models the ID?
