Looks to be an early "Brunswick" in rose gold plate? The case is showing a serial number starting with 9 and that coincides with the shield date stamp on the 21 jewel movement. Brunswick was a 21 jewel watch
We had an ad from 1939 and 1941. The 1941 shows the A... which was the yellow gold. We have the rose gold here. Would this be the C?

Brunswick was advertised as yellow gold like this one. with a full numbered dial
1939 Bulova Engineer for certain. I'm holding off on the variant for now

Its a match for the other example we have for sure, but we still don't have a definitive advert showing what I call an 'exploding' dial. To group both watches I agree it's best to ID as an Engineer.
