Hi All - I believe this is Practitioner, but the only advert I can find is a one for 1942 which has a different movement (10AX). the dial and case looks the same. But the movement is a 17 J 10AE which according to the movement info on the db is a 1940 movement. I haven't received the watch as yet and the picture of the movement is not clear enough to make out any date mark. But the case is marked Bulova with a shield after the name. plus serial number 8712886 under that its marked 10K gold filled
Agree with Practitioner, ad from 1942

Case not a match. Bezel in ad has a 'ledge'.
Here is the other example, you can see the difference.

What you have is the Buckingham, example below with the 1938 ad below that.

Cheers, Bob.
Great catch bobbee. Buckingham it is.
Bob
I had looked at the Buckingham, l must admit l didn't pick up on the case difference. It was the red on the second hand that made me think it was a practitioner
Well I really do not know

Is it not that the practitioner was a war time version of the Buckingham. The picture of the practitioner looks very much the same as the subject watch, all apart from the slight difference in the thickness of the bezel
It's not the Practitioner. You can see it has a bezel ring around the crystal. The lugs don't exactly match the Buckingham. They appear to be shorter and a little plumper at the tips and the spring bar holes are not exposed on the outside.
after comparison of watches that we have in the database I am also inclined to Buckingham
Agree with Buckingham
Buckingham works for me.
