Possible candidate - Treasurer. (looks like it has engraving, but an not 100% sure)
Looks to have a replaced hour hand.

The President model which is veryt similar is engraved and has 21 Jewels.
admin,
Yes. looks like a probable match - the lower horizontal bezel on the drawing seems less engraved, an image reproduction distortion - artists rendition issue maybe?
Oddly enough I've seen this Hand combination on several late 30's 1940 Bulova and I'm beginning to wonder if it was done purposely, easy fix if not but I'd hate to mistakingly change what was.
The treasurer definatly has engravings but as we have seen with other models bulova did advertise some with or with out engravings but gave the same name.
There's a new 37/38 ad in the database showing this model Treasurer without engraving (not the same dial though), so we know it was made that way.
There is at least one other unengraved Treasurer in the database, which was ID'd after much discussion. That discussion includes case and crystal dimensions that could be used for comparison.
Well, If we had some case dimensions maybe we could identify it. My guess is that it is the ladies version which would be about 32mm x 16 mm. I don't think men's were that small even for 1936.
In reply to Well, If we had some case by bourg01
Dimensions for my plain bezel Treasurer (in database) are 43mm long x 17.5mm wide lug to lug without crown. Crystal dimensions jive with the catalogs for the Treasurer at 28.3mm x 13.2mm .
Now we just need Fifth's dims.
Here's the ad showing the unengraved Treasurer from 1938, followed by the companion page of lady's watches. I'm not seeing anything in our ads that would indicate this watch is a lady's model. It just doesn't seem to fit the style or size for the period.
Also note that the 6AE movement was also used in the Phantom and the President at that time--two very similar watches.

99.9999% certain this Watch is the 'TREASURER' as shown in admins original post - non-engraved bezel.
I note that your case dimensions match the ones for my plain bezel Treasurer.
Yes, would be nice if Bulova would have thoughtfully added the model names inside?
: )
I don't think this Watch could be anything but a 'TREASURER' at this point, but that's only My opinion. To see it confiqured this way in an ad would be perfect.
