I recently bought this beautiful watch and am trying to identify it, It appears to resemble America clipper f with the bracelet and engraved case but case is not as curved and the dial is aerobic? This watch appears to have been barely worn and is running flawlessly! I really would appreciate your thoughts
Hi, and welcome to mybulova. Your watch is a real beauty. The original band is actually much more scarce than the watch itself. I agree, the case and band and most likely the movement are American Clipper "F".
I suspect the face was replaced. AC's of this time frame sported a face that alternated numbers and hash marks (numbers at even & hash marks at odd) . It also appears in your photos that the seconds track doesn't quite match the case opening shape.
1936 American Clipper noting possible face swap
I seen that as well and think it was just not sitting in the case properly .U took it out and reseated it and seems to be inline now, what’s your thoughts about the case not being as “curved “ as the ones I be seen in the America Clipper adds? The bracelet and case are in really nice shape with hardly no signs of wear leading me to believe this watch was rarely worn.

After more researching I’m thinking I have a 1936 “crocket” because the case is hinged I unfortunately cannot find any adds for the crocket and what kind of band or bracelet it may have come with but the dial and hinged case looks just like the crocket. Wondering if a “clipper” bracelet may have been changed out on it when it sold at the jewler? I’m new at this but have been doing my detective work . Lol
Welcome to MyBulova and thank you for posting your watch. I was thinking a American Clipper but I think you bring up a compelling argument. Based on this Dec 1937 forum ad of the Crocket with the exception of the bracelet it seems like a good match. If the rest of the panel agrees this will be the first for the database.
1936 Bulova Crockett
Yea I'm thinking it's a 1936 Crockett also sporting the American Clipper bracelet. The reason I think it's a 1936 is the serial number on the case and the square date code on the movement. And the case has a hinged back and seems to have the lines of the Crockett, not quite as curved but more angled toward the lugs vs the Clipper case? I was amazed when I received it last week by how little wear it has on it. The bracelet being the same with no wear thru!!! That's kinda why I was thinking maybe it was sold this way new and was definitely a sock drawer watch!!
Everyone on here is awesome , and I love this site and look forward to all your comments and thoughts about this watch!
The 1930s series if the American Clipper had a dasked/number combo dial. I'm not seen any full numbered AC model versions.
The Crockett advert seems to me to be a very good match. I would not put much focus on the bracelet as this could have been replaced or swapped or even an original 'option' at the time.
1936 Bulova Crockett works for me....and a fantastic example to boot.
