sold to me as a lone eagle? what do you think it is?? the open 9 and no 6 marker, has me stumped and the date stamp and case serial number dont seem to match the known photos....
This would be the Charles, Which I think took the place of the Lone Eagle mk. II in 1931. Check the vintage ads, 1930's. Maybe the dial difference is down to a redial, it is only a slight change. Very beautiful watch Richard, you should be proud!

1931 ad above. Subject watch has 1932 case date based on first digit of case SN. Richard-I can't see on the movement- it it a shield (1929) as entered, or could it be the square shield (1931). I think we are still seeing 10AN's w/ movement serial numbers as recent as 1931? Also Charles ad says 15 jewels and subject watch is 17. The open nine is due to a redial and was a matter of choice - IMO
Great watch Richard!
LE II from me. I have one myself and it is as Will says, the dial is most likely an early re-dial. The case is definitely a LE II and I don't think it is a movement swap.
Cannot see the jewel count on this movement, shouldn't it be 15 jewels for the LE anyway?
I think I see a "T" for 1932 to the right of the movement SN, so that would be O.K. for a match with the case SN, LE II was phased out and the LE III came in in 1931.
JP and Will, the problem I had with this watch (i have sent it back since my posting) was that if the case is legit, than in '32 didnt the LE have stepped sides. '29,'30,'31 cases match but this is a '32 case. So I am thinking a Charles? Or am I dead wrong on this. JP I will be sending the Lone eagle out this week. it is not running real well it will definatley need a cleaning. Thanks!
So no more info on the numbers and letters on the movement then...
probably not Bobby if he said it back but maybe Richard has some higher resolution pictures, as the watch record information is still good for the database. Any high resolution pictures saved on your hard drive somewhere Richard?
Regardless of the movement the case is 1932, thus it cannot be a LE II.
Charles is my call unless the whole case serial number thing is incorrect.
yea the case isn't a LE II . Mabye a Charles case w/ a 17 jewel movement, unless this "Charles" case with a 17 jewel is some unknown model name ....and I doubt that..but with all these new ads coming in.....I am curious about possible square shied vs shield.
So it may have actually been a square shield on the movement....but we may never know.
