I believe this to be the Maxim. The only ad we have coincides with the watch. There's an addtional serial number stamped on the back of the case, which is pretty unusual for the year. It shows: 221807, and you can see it looks like it was stamped after the fact? It's pretty unusual anyway. White gold case with etching down the bezel, gold numbers. The advertisement is from a 1933 newspaper ad.
I think you nailed it with that ad. I'd love to see it with the dial re finished.
1932 Bulova Maxim works for me. Nice rare piece.
Ambassador.
1933 and 1934 ads.

This is a 1932 ad for the Maxim.

My Maxim ad is from 1933. Yours is from 32? Hrmm... do we have confirmation on either of them?

We got another Ambassador ad.

We also got your Ambassador from a couple of weeks ago, remember?
You know what... I think I'm good with it being an Ambassador after seeing several of the other ads.
I've changed my mind. Ambassador.
Maybe that Maxim add I have from 1933 is kaput.
I'm thinking Ambassador too. Don't know what to think of the two Maxim ads though. I noticed there was no second serial number on the outside case back of Plains two tone, and could not tell from Marks' example if there was second outside serial number or not.
I too think the Ambassador ID is correct here. Too much evidence against the Maxim. The last advert Bob posted confirms it was available in both yellow and white.
Agree with Ambassador ID
