Watch Description

I haven't been able to find another watch on the site like this one. It may be a variant. I am not sure on work performed on the piece as it was found in a box of old items in my mother's attic. It may have belonged to my grandmother.

What a beauty, thanks for sharing your heirloom. Based on the crescent moon on movement bearing a serial number, paired with a case serial number starting with an "8"; your watch is a 1928.

This ad is from 1927 and shows a different dial. Dial appears to be a match to the case and number font matches ad. It's possible it is original/variant.

1928 Bulova Bernice, noting dial variation from ad and replaced crown.

I will change the date in original info above.

I have just looked up one of my watches and it is the Bernice but I have the one with these variations, the sapphire crown and the more elaborate dial. Mine has the crescent moon date code on it showing it is a 1928 as well. These ads must have a bit of overlap with the dates and clearly they made the same model but different styles. The case on mine appears identical to the one posted above and the movement is a 6AF as well. I'll be taking pictures of mine and posting it later, will post a link when I do. Cheers

I agree with a 1928 Bulova Bernice model ID. Movement jewel count is also a match (15J). Not finding any advert showing this type of dial on this model, but that's not unusual.
