Watch Description

Square Case measures 33mm lug to lug x 26.6 mm wide non-inclusive of the Crown using calipers.

Original Dial shows Radium numerals with 'Cathedral style' hands.

A sub-seconds Dial appears at the 6 O'clock position.

The interesting thing to Me is that, although damaged, the Watch strap appears to be original. Its' Buckle is signed Bulova and answers the question as to whether or not this Case should be enameled, imo.

Glass is N.O.S.

Known as the 'ATHLETE',  although Cooksies price guide spells it ATHLET,  there are no known ads for this ID.

Enamelled? Why enamelled? Is the buckle part enamelled? It's so rare to find an original Bulova stamped buckle from the 20s/30s and this one certainly looks to match the watch, which I know they did with some models.

A 1928 Bulova Athlete looks to match the other examples we have. It will be a good day when we can finally find a confirmation advert.

I note the lack of BULOVA on the dial, so this is a render from a generic watch advert that was similar to the watch actually being sold, or a rough rendition of the Bulova watch in question.

1928 Bulova Athlete is a good match.  Closest ad I could find.  The shape looks right but the engraving is off.  Probably used this inamge for the ad as it was a close match for the Athlete model

That's not even close Jim.  The image looks like the 'BREWSTER'

*if the ad is a true representation of the 'ATHLETE' then We have this Model mis-identified.

I was just confirming the model name "Athlete" in an ad.  The watch is not a match but similar.
