Watch Description

Case measures 33.5mm lug to lug X 22mm non-inclusive of the crown using calipers

'Snap fit' caseback is stamped Bulova and American Standard along with the 1927 patent date and case serial number.

The movement is housed in a block with dust shield and retaining ring.

The dial shows radium numerals and the hands are incorrect imo

Vinatge ad is dated 1926.

1927 'SUZANNE'

*There are 2 ads which appear in 1926 for a practically identical watch, same dial, same jewel count.  The 1926 'WINDSOR' and the 1926 'SUZANNE'

imo the ad for the 'WINDSOR' is showing a flat case bezel, while the 'SUZANNE' seems to be slightly convex.

The subject watch case being slightly convex will be the 'SUZANNE'

Also the rosette in the engraving pattern would seem feminine, to Me.

Dear FifthAvenueRes, your watch is a Windsor. Both the Windsor and Suzanne are identical, so much even that Bulova used the same illustration for both. The only difference is the size. The men’s model (Windsor) carries the 8AN and the ladies’ model (Suzanne) carries the 7AT movement. As a result, the Suzanne is 32.8mm x 19.4mm as where the Windsor is 33.3mm x 20mm.

Hi Alex.

Thank You for the input, do You have anything visual to confirm these findings?

In looking at the 1926 ads the illustrations are indeed very similar, with one exception.

In the image of the 'SUZANNE' the illustrator is attempting to show a convex bezel, imo. (note the shading along the upper edge of the case)

Whereas, mentioned earlier, the illustration of the 'WINSOR' is showing Us a flat bezel.

I'm also not seeing quite the same engraving details on both cases.

*also noting the different position of the seconds hand in each of the individual illustrations. The images are similar, they are not the same.

take a look at the sahpa of the 5 hour digit, i blieve its a windsor dial..... but i definitly see the curved shape of SUZANNE...... maybe a movement swap? if she dont house the good movement.....

My findings are based on having both watches in my hand and comparing them.

Great!

Perhaps You could provide a side by side image to show the differeneces?

It is very apparent to Me that the 'WINDSOR' in 1926 has a flat case bezel whereas the 'SUZANNE' case bezel is convex.

Alex, it's hard to tell from these photos if the bazel has a curve or is flat. Do you have a side on view to show which?
