Watch Description

Ladies in case patend ~ date June 1924 ~ 2.2 cm x 1.5cm rectangle w/ jewels ~ 14K stamped inside case meaning what? Case w/ jewels might be silver electroplated ~ don't expect jewels in case to be real

Since patend date of 1924 production may have been over several years ~ possibility maybe model "Ardsley"

There seems to be a clear plastic film over back of movement which is somwhat unusual All serial no., dates, movement numbers, model no. are on scans ~ additional scans can be provided if required contact me

Still functions after 100 years "Keeps on Ticken" ~

Hi Don - welcome to myBulova. The patent date refers to the dust cover over the movement. The case marking date you watch (I think) to 1927. I think your watch is the 1927 Bulova Natalie, like THIS one.

14K indicating a solid gold case with 4 diamonds and 6 sapphires.

Agree with Geoff's 1927 Bulova Natalie ID.

Dear Don L. Hedger, your watch is an upgraded Natalie with 4 additional diamonds that the original Natalie doesn’t have. Typically, such an upgrade would come with a different name, hence I classify it as “unknown” by lack of an ad confirming this version with diamonds. I have only seen it once before. Very beautiful!

The case is made of 14K solid gold, the diamonds are real and the sapphires are synthetic (with same hardness as real sapphires!)

Very beautifull. Congratulations!

The Case serial number beginning in 8 indicates 1928 and can be seen here in this Jewelers flyer, dated 1928

Watches Marked "Bulova Quality - American Standard" are considered to be 1927 even if they have a leading 8 serial number. Cases marked "Bulova Quality New York" with a leading 8 are considered to be 1928.

makes sense to Me...

Not.

Bulova are sequentially marking all of their Watch cases, except for one Year?

Sorry, I don't buy it.

1928

The ad came for a jewlers catalog of S. Kind & Co. and the catalog number is for this catalog listing and is not a Bulova reference number.  1928 Unknown.

Thank you all for the information  A local jewelery will be able to assess the jewels with no problem.

As mentioned it was working however it will be cleaned up (case crystal & face) & movement as I am sure, while winding up it works it hasn't been wound or worn for 50 years

Interesting ad from 1928 sure looks like the one here in question & with Panel Member "Alex" comment about the jewels this would have been an expensive watch in 1928 ~ while the jewlers ad only shows what looks like fabric wrist bands the one I have is a Craftex SS (stainless steel) ~ bracelet. Certainly from the time period & all links are ok

Will keep you posted with respect to the Jewels ~ Thanks very much to all

Now I must wind my "big" watches better refered to as "Clocks" Cheers
