before 1925 we date by the second digit. 1925 &+ are dating by first digit.

With as many models, as you are pointing out, it might be easier to discuss this with Stephen directly.

Can you point me to the information on dating pre-1925 cases? I found the information on dating movements but not the cases.

the dating of pre 1925 was determinate by admin and panel member a year or so.... just look all the 1910 era for exemple. Stephan may confirm this to you.

I recommend we keep as 1922 based on my previous statement about the later style of dial. The watch case may certainly be from 1921 if we stick to the second serial number determination we previously noted, however it may have also been sold in 1922.

the dating is normaly from production case date.... not the sold date.... it seem more consistant to date it by 1921 just as all the d.b. is build. except those 20ish i pointed today....

oh as we saw many case of a year of difference between the case s/n and the date symbol on movement , the case s/n is mostly considerate as what make a watch a watch..... the case. thats why for consistency its better to go with the date on case.(except those solid gold without s/n) that way it left only the 50ish watch i pointed to be corrected.
