Been looking for one of these since you guys were posting them and I finally snagged one! Sweet etched dial with what looks to be sunflowers.
Would this be a "John M. Ballard" ?

Also these are the sellers pictures. I'll get my own when it gets here. Will take a bit of work to get it up and ticking... but I'm betting Mike it up to the challenge!
I was looking at that one earlier today. Nice.
Another good one Plains.
Yeah thanks guys.... but what is it? =)

It's, it's, it's beyootiful, that's what it is!
This is possibly a HM, but could be older, maybe.
Wonderful engraving and really deep colour.
It's an American Standard case currently housing a circa 1923 or earlier Bulova movement, with an unsigned dial. That much is almost given. I have three similar watches, but haven't entered them in DB yet. Maybe I should do so.
Yeah you should Will. Seriously I dunno how we're going to find out how to date these, but they're obviously part of the whole start.
This one as well as the others look like the ones from the 1920 ad.... anyone have a better copy than the one posted?
Thanks Bobbee.... I think it's going to look great fixed up!
Yet another early 1920s beauty that for now will have to reside in the unknown bucket.
I seriously can't wait for the day that one of us finds a descent advert showing these early pocket watches. A lot of questions will hopefully be answered.
That's got to be your earliest Bulova hasn't Plains? Shouldn't be too hard finding a new hand.
Tentative Hudson Maxim

Yep... definately my earliest. I think I'm going to get it refurbed and wear it with my suits. Should be a fantasic conversation piece. Not to shabby for $40 eh boys?
Hard to tell which of the various brands of watches is pictured in the ad above. It could be one of the other brands. I do hope we find clearer ads, and new ads we don't currently have on site.

Unfortunately, I'm thinking Unknown for now. Pretty good chance it's a Hudson Maxim, but it could be something else too.

I'm on the Unkown vote, nice watch but no data.
