Lady Berkshire movement issue

Submitted by davep on

In trying to fit a donor 6BO movement into a Lady Berkshire case (which formerly contained a quartz movement) , the stem seems too short as the crown is fouling the case even when pulled out . A novice in this area so unsure how stem is removed if indeed a longer version is needed for this particular model . Any advice, pearls of wisdom etc , would be much appreciated

The stem of Your donor movement has been cut to fit the case is was in. Buy a new stem and cut to fit if necessary.

Back the detent screw off a turn (small screw head near the stem) and the stem should slide out, if not try in 1/2 turn increments until it does.

Yep, that's what I thought , thankyou , bit of a labour of love this one, the first donor movement turned out to be 21 jewels and not 17 , and proper  hands have now been sourced from Perrins,  let's see what's next !

Crystal looks ok but thanks, useful info . Have sourced the stem here in the UK so fingers crossed, the crown might be the last thing if it proves difficult to remove .
