1931 Round The World, to be restored

Submitted by 1962300 on

I plan to have this watch restored both cosmetically & mechanically.

  • Are there any referrals of who I should consider sending the watch to for restoration?  Those who know these pre-war Bulova's, maybe?  Especially if this needs parts...
  • Are there any referrals for a restoration on the dial?  It will need to be re-lumened too (the numbers & hands).  There seem to be a few dial restoration spots here in Southern California, so maybe one of them.
  • Are there any chances of me finding an original bracelet band, as in the original ad?

I will work on filling out the "My Bulova Watches" section next week.

Excited to have our 3rd Bulova, along with a 1932 Jump Hour (also needs repair) and a 1962 Surf King.

Thanks!

These should house either a 10AN or similar, so parts are plentiful and very easy to work on. Happy to help out if you can't find anyone state side (I'm in Australia).

Best of luck with your hunt for an original bracelet. You might find one,

Finding an original bracelet is difficult and expensive but I have used the strategy of looking for any 1930's watches that are not Bulova and finding a close match bracelet on some of the lesser brands then get them quite cheap.   shhhhh don't tell anyone my secret.
