What a wonderful keepsake from your grandfather. If you plan to honor him by wearing it I recommend a full professional service. Depending on where you live we might be able to recommend someone.
I've looked and looked, I don't find a match. I think it's a 1941 model based on the serial but I would really like to see a photo of the inside of the case back and a photo of the movement. If you aren't comfortable removing it, is it possible to get it somewhere that can remove the back and let you photograph it?
