Dating 1942, based on the first number in the case serial number.
I believe the model might depend on the size and dimentions of the watch and its crystal.
It could be the Bulova Lone Eagle, but it might also be the Bulova Ambassador
Although opening the watch up to determine the movement jewel count would probably tell us which.
17J then probably a Lone Eagle.
21J will make it a Ambassador.
