I'm not finding a Thayer ad from 1952.
1955 Thayer ad does show similar dial w/ wording selfwinding (vs Duo Wind on two ads linked above). Here's a 1953 Thayer ad w/ selfwinding on the dial.
1950 Duo WInd "F" ad w/ a couple variants of this case (mounts appear to be the difference). Another 1950 Duo Wind "F" ad, but I can't make out wording on bottome of dial.
All Duo Wind ads linked by Andersok and the others I've found so far say Duo Wind (or nothing) on dial vs selfwinding as in subject watch (and the 1953/55 Thayer ads).
Case also similar to December 1951 Ashford ad.
