I'm sure there was a date stamp or symbol on the movement but your jeweller didn't see it as all Bulova's have the date stamp. This style is more of the mid fifties to mid sixties to me. Bulova really started using alot of diamonds in several of the ladies watch models during this period. Regardless of the date of production, this watch is gorgeous, truly a priceless family heirloom. This was one extremely expensive watch in it's day and if it was pre 50's even more so.
