On Chronometer watches it was a sign of quality to see "Adjusted to six positions". For non-chronometer watches, it sounded good to say "Six adjustments". This is somewhat misleading, but does indicate that the watch has been properly adjusted at the factory. It would have been adjusted to heat and cold, isochronism, and three positions. There are quite a few adjustments a watchmaker can make to a watch, and the six were usually never specified.
