I'm emailing Rick Gilbert (senior), who may defer to his son, the newest co-author on the price guide. I'm not holding my breath, but they could have some info or recollection of how the original Curtis ID came about....
One thing I may have going for me is I've bought several great watches from him over the years....and he's a great guy.
