In reply to Thank's for the lesson. But by Jim Townsend
Gang This is one reason I continue to look for new copies of ads already in the database. The Sat Evening Post ads come to mind. My local HI library does not have hard copy back beyond the mid 1940's, but someone near a large metropolitan city would most likely have a library which has these and other magazines back to the turn of the century. I can't fly there, and they don't "loan" these old mags/journals too freely- they become like reference materials. If I could spend an afternoon driving to a large library, I'd take my digital camera and get high res photos of these older ads...or use the library scanner to get high res digital copies. ...but this endeavor from Hawaii would cost me $1000 or more, and would take days vs. hours. We sure could use some updated ads from anyone so motivated and close to a library. You should be able to view the library collection on line, including the back date to which hard copies exist, so you don't have to make a trip w/o first knowing the library has these pubs back to our required date.
...not complaining about HI, as it's 80 something degrees year round here, and beautiful beaches are ten minutes from my home....just few Bulova resources.
